Hot Photo Book: "Drive" by Andrew Bush

6/29/2008 08:20:00 PM

Driving and reading go together like peaches and motor oil. This is just one picture from Andrew Bush's new book, Drive. According to Andrew, it's a book of "Photographs made while traveling 50 to 70 mph in Los Angeles and other parts of the Southwestern United States." My 5 favorite pictures and a link to buy the book after the jump. - click the 'continue reading' link below ...

My favs:

This woman is clearly upset.

These guys are clearly on their way to make an adult film.

Hard working. Cool car. Always good to wear head protection. Patricia apparently did not.

Chauffeured.

El Capitan, looks kind of like the dog above.

Now the important details... You can buy the book here Hurry up though, I already bought two. (Seriously.) And you can see all the shots from the book here.

Mad props to Rachel over at Shoot the Blog for the tip on this book. If you're looking for the most prolific photography blog going right now, pay her a visit. She's a machine (and she's really nice)!

By the looks of the photos, he could have called it anything but Drive. LOL. Reading, filming, makeup, you name it.

Great tip - thanks for the 'buy' link.'

? Why did you buy two of them?

I just clicked through every picture on Andrew's site. That would be a VERY cool hardback to own - I just don't have the 40 duckets right now. Next paycheck...

I love driving through traffic and am a avid people watcher. As soon as people enter into there cars they suddenly become invisible to the outside world.

My funniest moment when I thought I was invisible in a traffic jam, I started exploring the inside of my nostril with my finger. My window was open and i looked across to the opposite lane also in standstill. There was a Porsche sat there and the most attractive lady I have ever seen , I smiled at her oblivious to what I was doing, she noticed me gave me a smile and waved seductively and suddenly shouted "pick us a winner"

I have never been so embarrassed in all my life.

Great post Chase!

I'm a big fan of conceptual photography books. There's something about photos that, individually, would be little better than snapshots but when weaved together with a theme become something much greater.

I work with military folk so I feel I have to point this out: "El Capitan" is in fact a Sergeant First Class. That isn't the notable part. If I count those service stripes correctly, he had 27 years of service. Give a good soldier his due, please.

Love these shotts. Nothing like a little flash photography and driving. I've thought many time about sticking my camera out the window and snapping photos, but when you dont have insurance on your camera or car you are a bit more leary about what you do when you drive. I will have to pick this book up.
