    it is about creativity right?

your teaser is great and it’s very well executed. I love it but… is it original?

    take a look at this D90 test-footage from 7 months ago: http://vimeo.com/1836490

you can’t protect an idea, but you can protect a “format” and you come very close to an existing one in this video…

your blog and work are extremely inspirational to me, so I’m a bit surprised to see so much simelarities here…

but, no worries; I’ll get over it… 8^)

  25. brianbenthin April 29, 2009 at 11:54 am #

  34. Gyuri April 29, 2009 at 1:04 pm #

Well done, but I saw that coming, just because I saw this (http://vimeo.com/4266613)[NSFW] a couple hours ago :-O

  35. mogfxdesign April 29, 2009 at 1:42 pm #

Nice work Chase. I watched a couple of time to see how it was done. For a minute there, I thought you were starting to get into some serious visual effects. As someone else commented something like this was done with a D90 and chroma key. Either way it’s pretty realistic. As a motion graphic designer I can see how stills and video will be coming together.

If you’re really wanting to get creative and see some cool creative visual effects, check out http://www.videocopilot.net. Andrew Kramer came out with the original how to on getting hit with a car tutorial. It’s amazing at what can be done these days with some software and a desktop computer.

  36. Heinz April 29, 2009 at 2:21 pm #

I always knew photography can be seriously bad for one’s health.

  37. Kevin Halliburton April 29, 2009 at 3:11 pm #

Ouch! Heck of a way to find out that excessive use of your camera phone activates the roll over Minis…

  38. Marisol Risakotta April 29, 2009 at 3:28 pm #

Hmm… 2 to 1000 Iphone pictures a day… right.. At first I was relieved to hear that. After all the images I shot today on my cellphone it was a relief to know I’m not that odd… but din’t see that end coming… hmm right… good point… I’lll be keeping that one in mind.

  39. Holly Mayes April 29, 2009 at 3:35 pm #

  44. Anonymous April 29, 2009 at 5:01 pm #

Now thats a shame I really started to like that Chase guy.
Any Chance your going to be videoing this talk? for all us poor people that can’t make it there. Thanks for sharing everything you do Chase. Hope you can make it down under some time.

  45. Anonymous April 29, 2009 at 5:02 pm #

That really bad continuity editing error when you switch camera angles as you’re walking out onto the road took away the impact (so to speak) of it for me.

Chase, there is more to making any kind of film/video project than having a camera and an idea. You need a decent editor.

    Funny though.

  46. Anonymous April 29, 2009 at 5:03 pm #

    haha good :)
