New Audio Podcast

Wanted to announce that we officially have a new AUDIO podcast. This Audiocast will feature long form content where my photographer, filmmaker, guests, friends, and/or yours truly are primarily talking…things like all the chasejarvisLIVE interviews (featuring worldclass creative talent), #AskChase episodes, talks, etc.

You can find our audio podcast and/or subscribe to it here on iTunes. If there are another place we should also put it, let us know.

This won’t adversely affect our ongoing video podcast which features downloadable behind the scenes videos from my YouTube channel. [VIDEO podcast is here.] If anything, that will continue to improve. Technology is getting better and we’re getting our systems dialed so expect more–and better–there too. As always, all this stuff is free.

And speaking of getting things dialed in… I was outta town last week. And while I was away–completely unknown to me–Scott, Erik, and Norton decided to rope in an MC buddy of ours, Tilson, to “surprise me” and record a fun audio intro for the new podcast. Tilson is a character, and a man of many words. They filmed this process for a laugh. If you want to check out that video after the jump, hit more or ‘continue reading below’…

To hear the final intro that came outta that video with Tilson, check out the #AskChase audio podcast.

[Thanks to my crew for the surprise and thanks again to Tilson. Seeing as it's Friday, you should check out his real talent here with The Saturday Knights.]

working on that. we’re currently pulling this audio from live feeds, etc, usually shot in our rather large studio (ie not like a traditional audio podcast filming enviro). but we know about the big box sound and are working on it. will improve over time. thx!

Great idea, Chase. Your timing is right — there are a few much-loved podcasts out there that are drying up.

If you want to make the non-iTunes angle super-easy on yourself, just upload and link to the mp3 files right on your blog. If you put ‘podcast’ in the title, we’ll all know from our RSS feeds that there’s content we want to download.

If you want to go further, I found a pretty decent tutorial for podcasting here:

You should put it in a RSS feed for those like me who don’t use iTune. So we can download the mp3 files. Thanks!

I´m impressed at how you find the time to do all the things that you do, Chase. That is one of the most inspirational aspect of your photographysharingmachine. Greatly appreciated! Thank you! :-)

Sorry but I don’t like iTunes and don’t want it installed on my machine. Can you post a link to an mp3 file? It is very simple to do.

  12. Jan February 26, 2011 at 12:18 am #

+100 on the rss feed with mp3′s in it.

Also, some users might like an flash audio player on the page, like twit.tv does it.

After 30 years …. radio killed the video star :)

Agree with LondonPeepPhotog … itunes is a dog.
Hosting/space is cheap now, can you not self host?

Perhaps set up a subdomain linked to a separate server so it doesn’t interfere with the main site?

Awesome Chase, thanks. After terminally washing my iPod in my back jeans pocket… this “Creative Type” only has an android for podcasts, so an rss feed (for Google Listen) would be great, thanks.

Could you create an RSS feed for these podcasts. iTunes only is a limited option. We all are not plugged directly into Apple. Thanks.
