    Fascinating post. It makes me want to build one for myself. Coincidentally, Neil Gerschenfeld of MIT has recently posted a detailed description of the process of how to Make Almost Anything with Digital Fabrication. He set up a facility at MIT he calls a Fab Lab, and more have spring up here and there:

    I imagine the equipment is still very expensive, but who knows? Look at this house

    This house reminds me of a Section 8 Government home. Is there a basement? Where is a person to go when a tornado is approaching? Something like this could make a good summer get-away camp and would be cost effective but as far as year round living is concerned that would be a big “no-way” for me.
